Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA). In the event of a nuclear generating plant incident, MVMA will coordinate with Minnesota Veterinary Reserve Corp and assist HSEM and
DHS in ensuring that reception center personnel report to the reception center at the Site Area Emergency classification level or as soon as possible during a rapidly escalating event to perform
monitoring, decontamination and registration of household pets and service animals. Livestock and exhibition/large animals are sheltered in place and are not transported to reception centers
during nuclear power plant emergencies.
